Grammar and Formatting:

  1. the formatting for math equations is really obnoxious and not smooth at all in the text
  2. there's something just grammatically wrong with the NEW bullet point and I'm not quite sure what the original intended comment is supposed to be/how to re-word this. The second sentence.
  3. in the last paragraph under Tree View, I feel like parent and child should be switched around, but I'm not sure.
  4. this is just a formatting concern: shouldn't Close be in the same typeset as Delete and all the others (in the description under the Close paragraph)?
  5. second paragraph under Activities, first sentence - "predictes"? is that right?
  6. under Instantaneous transition, is the Arc Cardinality bullet supposed to be the exact same as it was for Timed transition?
  7. figure under Simulation has same caption as a previous figure (I believe it's the same as the figure before the one before)
  8. in the pdf version, Response surface model selection isn't a bolded section - is it supposed to be a new section (9.8.2 in the pdf manual instead of ANOVA, and ANOVA is 9.8.3) or is it supposed to be a sub-section of Factorial model selection?
    :: - (could also be a part of Linking and References) in that section, 2nd paragraph, does "Section 3.5" refer to actual Section 3.5 or does it mean 8.5 (because in the tex manual chapter 9 is labeled as though it were chapter 4); there is no link
    • also, the \ldots function in math mode makes the dots look like they're in the center of the parentheses and not at the bottom (just a side note)
  1. the Hash Value text box section under Parameters puts 0.5 as a math equation, which makes it look obnoxious. should it just be left like that or be changed to just regular text, no math condition set on it?
  2. the math equations in the 4th paragraph of Introduction also look obnoxious. should the equation be left without the math condition: 107 x 10 x 8 bytes = 800 MB to 107 x 20 x 8 bytes = 1600 MB
  3. 2nd and 3rd bullets under Checkboxes, based on their descriptions, seem like they should be switched order-wise. (2nd bullet point says "Again, this is useful because...")
  4. under "The options are as follows" under Transient solver, is that really the only option?

Linking and References:

  1. the last sentence of the Remote Shell Command bullet under External Tools is unable to reference whatever appendix section it's supposed to be (\ref{sec:remoteshell}), and I'm not sure if that's supposed to be "man" or or perhaps "main"?
  2. reference to unknown section under the Import bullet point (\ref{sec:projman_sets}).
  3. in the 4th paragraph under the ANOVA section, it references Section 3.6 with no internal link. Is that supposed to be Section 8.6?
  4. 2nd paragraph of Network Setup references an unknown section (sec:projman_netset)
  5. under Getting Started, 2nd paragraph, references a figure from Building Models page; how to link figures from another page? --> perhaps just re-inserting the figure

Comments (also added to Discussion sections of the respective pages):

  1. in the 2nd to last paragraph of the Flat State Space Generator section, in the .tex version of the manual there's a comment that reads: (TAC): we should define stabilizing\index{stabilizing} and well specified\index{well specified}...
  2. there's a note in the tex manual for the 3rd bullet point, second paragraph that reads "Probably should insert a longer blurb on jackknife"
  3. in the bullets under "The options are as follows:" under Direct steady-state solver, there's a comment in the tex manual before the Row bullet: The \dn{Accuracy} is an integer representing the number of digits to the right of the decimal point that are desired to be accurate for the steady-state probabilities. The accuracy is approximated analytically \cite{tvedt:msc}. Note that the accuracy of the obtained performability measure depends on the number of states in the model as well as the value of the rate rewards\index{rewards}. \index{accuracy}
  4. under Advanced deterministic iterative steady-state solver, in the tex manual under "The output file contains the means and variances of the performability variables. It also contains the following information:", there is a comment that reads: "({\bf TODO:find out output of this solver...find model in which this solver works}):"
  5. last bullet point under Pitfalls and Hints under Advanced deterministic iterative steady-state solver, there's a note in the tex manual that reads: {\bf TODO: define power method somewhere and ref}

  • figure 1.3 in Modeling Background in the Enabling and completion rules for actions sub-subsection only shows diagrams (a)-(c), but the paragraph talks about a fourth possible (d) scenario. You'll have to scroll down just a little.
  • can External Atomic Interface be updated?
  • under the Elements menu, the images are kind of bigger than what's in the pdf version. is there a way/should they be made into smaller icons? (the pdf manual also has each image placed in a box so each image has a thin black outline)
  • the 1st paragraph under Diagnostic Plots references a previous figure that "shows the panel with an example normal plot of studentized residuals", but the next figure has "Normal plot of studentized residuals" as its description. Is the 1st paragraph referencing the correct figure?

    • not sure how to link to another figure on a different page directly - see end of second paragraph under Execution policy.

  • 4th paragraph under Takahashi steady-state solver, last sentence reads "shows the editor for the iterative steady-state solver and its ..." --> I changed "iterative" to "Takahashi"
  • last sentence in first paragraph under Accumulated reward solver reads: "shows the editor for the transient solver and its available options and adjustable parameters. The options are similar to the transient reward solver options." --> changed "transient solver" to "accumulated reward solver"; not sure if "transient reward solver" should be that or "transient solver"
  • similarly, Adaptive transient solver 1st paragraph, last sentence, "...shows the editor for the transient solver and its.." --> changed "transient solver" to "adaptive transient solver"
- the reference in the first paragraph, has pages 6199-648 (is that supposed to be 619-648?)
